One of the capital’s most frequented landmarks is the St. Martin’s Cathedral, constructed in the Gothic style and consecrated in 1452. This architectural marvel is integral to the most exquisite Baroque structures, including the Chapel of St. John the Merciful and the statue of St. Martin. Notably, between 1563 and 1830, 11 kings and 7 royal wives were crowned here. For those keen on retracing the steps of Hungarian kings’ coronations, the southern portal from Rudnay Square to the northern portal leading to the charming medieval Kapitulská Street mirrors the historical route. Audio guides, available in 12 languages, enhance the experience.
